Built on the SDT Engine.

Connect, purpose-built for smaller dealers and franchise groups. On-demand secure messaging. Same compliance posture, no enterprise integration project.

Already work with KPA?

Lite ships with KPA.

KPA is the compliance, environmental, health, and safety platform that thousands of auto dealerships already use to manage Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Safeguards Rule, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) workflows. Botdoc Lite ships inside the KPA offering as the secure transport layer for dealership documents and customer files. Same Botdoc SDT Engine. Same compliance posture. Procured through the partner relationship you already have.

KPA

Botdoc Lite is included as the secure document transport inside the KPA dealership compliance offering. Ask your KPA representative to activate the Botdoc Lite capability for your dealership, or talk to the Botdoc team directly to scope a custom configuration.

What it is.

Lite is the on-demand secure messaging product in the SecureMyDealer family. A dealership employee starts a session. The customer uploads their files and sensitive information from the same text or email thread they were already using. The documents land in the designated inbox at the dealership. Nothing stays in the system after retrieval.

Lite is built for the dealership that wants the Connect compliance posture without the full Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Dealer Management System (DMS) integration. Smaller stores. Franchise groups. Dealers that need the secure transport now and want the option to expand later. It is not a downgrade. It is the same SDT Engine underneath, scoped to the workflow that fits a leaner operation.

If your store is doing 80 deals a month, Lite gets you to compliance in minutes, not a quarter-long integration project. If you grow into the full CRM and DMS workflow, the path to Connect is one conversation away.

Why this was hard to do before SDT.

The smaller dealer has the same compliance exposure as the largest dealership group. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Safeguards Rule (16 CFR Part 314) does not scale its requirements down for a fifty-employee store. The result was that smaller dealerships either bought enterprise tools they could not staff, or they accepted the regulatory risk and kept using text and unsecured email.

Lite exists because the SDT Engine made it possible to ship the compliance posture without the enterprise integration project that historically came with it. The dealership does not stand up a CRM connector. The customer does not get an account. The compliance happens in the transport layer itself rather than in a separate piece of infrastructure that smaller dealers could not afford to operate. The deployment is measured in minutes, not months, and the ongoing operational cost fits the same per-store budget the dealership already runs on for the rest of its software stack.

What the SDT Engine made possible.

Compliance posture.

The FTC Safeguards Rule (16 CFR Part 314) applies to every auto dealership in the country, regardless of store size. The 2023 amendments and the 30-day breach-notification rule that followed do not exempt smaller dealers, and state Attorney General enforcement against credit-app and ID-document handling is escalating in parallel. Lite gives the smaller dealership the same patented SDT Engine that runs at the largest dealer groups in production today, without the enterprise integration overhead that would otherwise put compliant transport out of reach for fifty-employee stores.

The transport layer is the compliance layer. Every document is encrypted in transit through the SDT Engine. Audit trails on every transaction. No customer credentials in the dealership environment. The compliance review during the next examination is faster because there is no portal to audit, patch, or expense.

Part of the SecureMyDealer family.

Lite is one of three production products under the SecureMyDealer umbrella, all built on the same SDT Engine and tuned to different store sizes and integration appetites. Connect is the full CRM and DMS-integrated workflow embedded inside CDK Global, Cox Automotive, and Drive Centric. ID Verify is the real-time identity feature that runs inside Connect and Lite or ships as a standalone capability for dealerships that have other transport in place but need just the identity-verification step. The same engine powers all three variants, which lets a dealership group mix variants across rooftops without standing up parallel infrastructure.
