Botdoc Chosen to Join the National Automobile Dealers Association Affinity Provider Program

Apr 11, 2023

April 11, 2022 – Botdoc, the global leader in Secure Digital Transport (SDT) technologies, has been chosen by the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) as an Affinity Provider Program vendor. Botdoc provides technology with the ability to keep customer information at dealerships secure, confidential and free from threats.

This comes at a critical time as the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced a deadline of June 9, 2023, for dealerships to comply with some of the requirements in its amended Safeguards Rule. The FTC Safeguards Rule, which took effect in 2003, aims to ensure that covered entities, including auto dealers, protect the security of consumer information. Covered parties are required to develop, implement and maintain an information security program to safeguard nonpublic personal customer information. Failure to comply with the FTC Safeguards Rule risks a fine of up to $50,120 per incident for auto dealers.

“Dealers are facing enormous pressure to comply with new security regulations,” explains Karl Falk, Botdoc founder and CEO. “While increasing security, it’s important to understand how it impacts convenience and the dealer/consumer relationship. We’re proud to be a resource to bridge this gap for all automotive dealers.”

“More than ever NADA members are focused on protecting their business and ensuring that they are compliant with data security regulatory requirements,” said NADA president and CEO Mike Stanton. “Botdoc’s technology allows dealers to seamlessly merge the online and in-person portions of buying a vehicle while protecting the customer information collected and complying with ever-increasing security requirements.”

By the June deadline, US auto dealers are required to adopt the new security measures. Botdoc’s technology offers a document management solution that provides end-to-end encryption for dealerships to transport licenses, financial paperwork and other confidential documents while still allowing their staff to use personal devices to communicate with consumers. With Botdoc’s solution, users can have peace of mind without the hurdles caused by pins, passwords, logins, accounts, apps or software to download for staff and customers. New users can implement the Botdoc solution in minutes. Auto dealerships can visit www.botdoc.io get started.
